Superfood Recipe: Holiday Ginger Molasses Cookies

Happy holidays!

I find baking to be very relaxing as a hobby over the holidays.

It brings back childhood memories of cookie cutters and counters covered in flour.

Putting on some holiday tunes, pouring a glass of wine and following a cookie recipe is a great opportunity for self-care.

In the end I (hopefully) have a batch of delicious cookies to share with loved ones.

I'm sharing my favourite superfood cookie recipe for you to try out this holiday season!

This recipe has gluten, sugar and butter and is unapologetically indulgent.

It's important to enjoy the holidays and have treats in moderation without guilt.

Superfood: Ginger

Here are 5 health benefits you can feel good about when you bite into one of these Ginger-Molasses cookies.

1. Anti-nausea

Ginger is best known for it's anti-nausea properties. Great for pregnant moms, those recovering from the flu or with motion sickness.

2. Anti-oxidant

Ginger has potent anti-oxidants. They can scavenge free radicals throughout the body and neutralize them.

3. Improve digestion

Ginger helps stimulate enzymes that break down food and stimulates the digestive system.

4. Anti-inflammation.

As a cousin of tumeric and curcumin, ginger also helps to decrease inflammation which can help with joint pain in arthritis and muscle recovery after exercise.

5. Improve cholesterol and blood sugar

Studies show ginger can help to improve cholesterol by reducing bad cholesterol and triglyceride levels and keep blood sugar levels stable.
